TheExplainer of the Week goes to Julia Belluz for her recent Vox article suggesting that doubling down on common sense in the face of new, more contagious variants of the SARS-CoV-2 is the thing to do. Sure, vaccine roll-out is accelerating but with more infectious and potentially dangerous variants in circulation it makes most sense to double down on social distancing, masking, hand washing and avoiding unnecessary exposures. Now is the time for even more common sense!
